Minnie Mouse inspired birthday party

Hello, friends!  It's me again!  And I have something new to show you.  But first let me tell you a few things that are on my mind...  Last month was a very difficult one.  My kids {9 and 4} returned to school {a new one, and very far from our house, by the way}, not to mention it was the first year for my 4 yr old girl.  Tears, screams, blouse pulling and everything.  New schedule, our car broke down, and the saddest thing...  My husband's brother passed away.  So here we are, trying to adjust to all the new things happening in our family, but in the midst of all this, we never cease to see God's peace in our home.  We can truly see we are privileged to live under God's grace, and count on the love from all our family, which motivates us to keep dreaming and putting our best in everything we do!
With all that said, I also want to share this: a little more than a year ago a "tiny" gift came to our family: my niece Isabella.   A gorgeous baby girl and a great miracle from God.  The start of her life wasn't easy, but once more, we were able to experience God's love for our family.  And now we are celebrating her first birthday!!!
And this is how I want to share with you my latest creation...  I planned this for approximately 1 week, and this is what I was able to accomplish.  A little Minnie Mouse inspired birthday party for beautiful Isabella.  I really hope you like it!!!

Hola, amigos!  Soy yo otra vez!

Beautiful ladies, Isabella and her mommy.

A little furniture makeover

Hello, friends!!!  I just want to share with you a little makeover we did to this bookshelf.  Unfortunately, I didn't take pictures to show you the "before" shot {I know, DUHHH! for me}, but would you please close your eyes for a little bit?  ...imagine a plain, boring, dark brown, abandoned in the corner of the office bookshelf, and now, open them and see this:

I covered the back of the bookshelf with fabric.
...and filled it with lots of girly things.
I'm sorry I didn't take pictures before the renovation!  It was a very dark {and boring} piece of furniture.
Now it's bright and fun!

Fabric gives it a totally new look.

I LOOOOOOOOOVE Play Houses, and I'm thinking I'm gonna need more bookshelves soon!
Ok, I know I didn't make this, but just for the record, I love Hello Kitty.
So, I hope you like my "new" bookshelf, and I would love to read what you think!  Thank you for reading!

Barbie inspired birthday party

Hi dear friends!!!  Today I'm writing this post to share with you my 4 yr old girl's Birthday Party!
We began asking her about her wishes for her party about 4 months ago, and she was very very sure she wanted a Barbie Party.  Oh...  I wasn't very excited with the theme she chose; though I really LOVED Barbie when I was a little girl, I thought: "not yet!  She's still a baby!  She's supposed to like tea parties and teddy bears, right???".  Nope.  She wanted her party to be sparkly and fashionable.  Ok, so she was the birthday girl and I had to make her wish come true.
The day came.  It was beautiful and sunny, but as usual I was running late.  Very very late.  Fortunately so were my guests!  That gave me a little more time to put everything together, but time is never enough!  I couldn't finish my dessert table.  SO SAD!!!!!  I bought a lot of ingredients for lots of sweets that I know everyone would've loved, but since I tried to do everything myself I failed to accomplish what I had in mind.  And with "everything", I mean EVERYTHING: decorations, favor bags {which I didn't take a picture of, duhhh!!!}, desserts, cake, kids activities and games, and even photography!  ...really too many things to be in charge of, and also trying to be a good host?  Not possible.  At least not for me.  Not yet.  But enough complaining.  I'm gonna try to show you now what I did like about the party.  The weather, the centerpieces, the cake, the favor bags {I don't have a picture of these, but I will try to get one!}, loved all the people who came, but what I liked the most It was seeing my little girl enjoy every part of this, since I started making the decorations, shopping, looking for her dress, making the cake and the actual party!  It was all worth it.  And I really thank GOD for making all this possible.  He always blesses us with a home full of people that we love and know they love us back!
Now that I made you read all this {you read it, right?}, I'm gonna show you the details!  I hope you like them!!!

A few words to start...

Welcome to my blog!  I am a very happy and loved daughter of God. He has blessed me with a very loving husband and two amazing kids {boy, 9, girl, 3}. And I love making things. All kinds of things. Every time I see something I like, I wonder how easy {or difficult} would it be to make it. My color, my taste, my way. I love art, food {specially desserts}, photography, painting, decorating, sewing, crafts, Mickey Mouse, legos, toys {and all things kids!}, and love clothes and shoes {don't we all girls???}!!! Most of the time it's been very satisfying putting to work the creativity God has given me, and I want to share all that with you. When I was a little girl my dad use to say that my motto was: "I build a bright house and I live in it". This blog is my attempt to explain what this phrase means to me.

Bienvenidos a mi blog!
Y me encanta hacer cosas.

Meanwhile, I want to share with you a cake I recently made for my son's birthday.
